Lola Popoola is a Nigerian-American multidisciplinary researcher and writer. She holds a master’s degree in international development focusing on Africa and gender. Her work merges storytelling with research study to contribute nuance and context to development policy and practice. Her experience extends between the United States, Europe, and West Africa’s public and private sectors.
Lola’s most recent work was a published editorial article that analyzed Lagos, Nigeria’s labor distribution, and its urban informal economy. The article transforms empirical research and in-person interviews into narrative portraits about market women and empowerment.
