Alina Bernhardt is a German-Indonesian Liberal Arts and Sciences BA student at Leiden University College (The Hague) who is majoring in World Politics and is particularly interested in human rights issues and Peace and Conflict Studies. She lived most of her life in Northern Germany but further has additionally spent a year abroad in Australia and volunteered during her Gap Year at a local school in Tanzania. These experiences not only broadened her horizon and introduced her to a more international environment, but ultimately led to the discovery of her passion for humanitarian causes. Presently, aside from her studies, she is engaged in the UNICEF Student Team in The Hague and a student committee named ‘Race & Ethnicity’ at her university. In her free time, Alina enjoys reading books, writing poetry, long walks in nature, and cooking with friends.
