Amy Biedermann is a Ph.D. student in the College of Education at Texas State University whose research focuses on adult learning and pedagogies of social transformation. She is currently working on her dissertation focused on the Educación No Sexista student protest movement in Chile. She has also studied abroad in the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China and has interned with human rights organizations in Uganda and Kenya. Amy is passionate about the critical role that transnational exchange plays in realizing the civic purpose of higher education and plans to continue working within the intersections of international education and community engagement upon the completion of her studies.
