Eefje just (2014) finished her second Masters in Law at the School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, where she studied topics including Islamic law, Law&society in India and Pakistan, Gender and Armed Conflict and indigenous land rights. She did her dissertation in the field of the accomodation of Islamic law in the Netherlands in which she focused on the conflict/balance between the freedom of religion and women’s rights. Sideways she discussed institutionalised Islamophobia.

Eefje works as an independent consultant and expert author in the field of racial and religious discrimination in the Netherlands for the Open Society Foundations (XenFunds), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), and the Dutch International Commission of Jurists (ICJ/NJCM).
