Margarida Farinha is a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow (2018 Berlin Fellowship) and she works as a junior lecturer and mentor at the University of Amsterdam, teaching courses in anthropology and sociology. Before the start of the pandemic, she also hosted monthly events for sharing anthropological research and exchanging ideas between students, researchers and professors at the Anthropology Department. She holds a M.Sc. in Cultural and Social Anthropology from the same university with a thesis on statelessness in Germany. Besides teaching, she is a founding member and writer for Statefree , an online community connecting stateless people and their allies. Before moving to Amsterdam for her Masters, she worked for a network for political education in Berlin and was a member of the Lisbon-based collective Humans Before Borders. Margarida was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal and has studied and lived in Germany, Argentina and the Netherlands.
