Building on her studies in Human Geography and specializing in Cartography, Melissa is interested in the relationships of place, space, and the complexities held within. In response to the national Chilean uprisings of 2019, she founded the Place of Places project, a storytelling platform for bridging the gap between places ‘here’ and ‘there’ and ‘us’ and ‘them.’ More recently, she has shifted her attention to musical and creative forms of activism. Focusing on the small, slow  actions that contribute to a larger change, she stresses above all the notion of care. From dance floor zines to music maps, rethinking university curriculums to loud demonstrations in between. She is currently based in Dresden, Germany.
