Sydney Perlotto is a public health professional working at the intersection of policy and normative solutions to health inequity. Throughout her career, Sydney has partnered with communities to democratize health knowledge for action and justice. Such efforts have included interviewing indigenous women’s artisan cooperatives in Peru, championing youth-led multimedia advocacy campaigns in Nigeria, and building an enabling policy environment for reproductive justice in Connecticut. Her recent fascination and research focus on the parallels between vaccine hesitancy and reproductive oppression. Sydney holds a BA in Global Social Change and Development from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a (forthcoming) MPH in the Social and Behavioral Sciences from the Yale School of Public Health. Her roots in the southeastern United States, personal experiences with chronic illness, and fondness for historical literature inform her justice-oriented approach to life. She finds peace by biking for abortion access and meditating with bees.
