Thomas Huddleston (PhD, Maastricht) is a widely recognized international migration researcher & educator, with over 18 years of international experience. His expertise ranges from migration pathways to integration, citizenship, political participation, equality & international/EU policymaking. His independent research projects engage in original data collection for hard-to-measure policies and groups, cross-national mixed methods and participatory action research. He regularly advises non-profits on innovation in policy and practice, as well as community leadership development. His 60+ publications and hundreds of speaking engagements have helped to improve migration studies and policies across Europe, North America & further afield. His work is currently focused on educational innovations in teaching both for and about migrants and refugees.

As a 2005 Berlin Senior Fellow, and, thanks to his Humanity in Action Pat-Cox Fellowship in Brussels in 2007, he joined the Migration Policy Group, where he for coordinated research and communications. His work has enabled him to create collaborations with Humanity in Action Senior Fellows and Staff. For example, in 2019, MPG and Humanity in Action created the VoteEuropa European Parliament online election campaign, which reached over 40 million Europeans with diverse background.

Thomas joined the Board of Humanity in Action, Inc. in December 2024.
