Valentine is a Brazilian lawyer and researcher dedicated to International Human Rights and Environmental Law, holding an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of Amsterdam. She is passionately committed to using advocacy, intersectionality, and law as powerful tools to advance the cause of an equitable, sustainable, and inclusive world for all. She has worked on various legal roles and projects that situate human rights protection as their core foundation, including access to justice, gender-based violence, environmental conservation, police brutality, and fair trial rights. Her recent extensive research focuses on the intersections of climate change and Indigenous peoples’ rights through the lens of decolonization of knowledge. As a Global South citizen, she believes that embracing a decolonial perspective is key to achieving climate justice and conceiving a truthfully sustainable future.
