About the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the oldest and most recognizable civil rights organization in the United States. Throughout its history, the NAACP has relentlessly fought against violations of civil and human rights. From lynching to segregation, job discrimination to urban poverty, the NAACP has always stood steadfast for human rights and justice. At this time of great political, social and racial tension in the United States, Humanity in Action is proud to work more closely with the NAACP.
