Saehee Pérez is a Korean-Mexican community organizer from Northern Virginia, currently pursuing a degree in Government at the University of Virginia (UVA). Her work centers on education, LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare, and civic access; she has introduced legislation in Virginia’s 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 legislative sessions to protect LGBTQ+ youth in schools, expand access to healthcare for young people, and broaden opportunities for civic engagement among high school students. Her projects—ranging from policy change to protest organizing—has been featured on outlets including USA Today, AP News, NBC, and the Washington Post. She currently works on gun violence prevention with Brady United.
Saehee is a Posse Foundation Scholar and holds leadership roles in student government, international relations, and public service initiatives at UVA. Upon graduating from UVA, Saehee plans to attend law school to pursue a career in civil rights law or international human rights law.
