On May 30, 2017, Humanity in Action Germany held a public lecture at Berlin’s renowned Humboldt University Grimm-Zentrum library in cooperation with New York University Berlin. Law Professor and former John Lewis Fellowship Director Dr. Tanya Washington gave a talk titled “The Trump Effect: Race, Regression & Restoration.”
We welcomed around 100 guests who actively engaged in the Q&A as well as the discussion after the talk. Dr. Washington focused on race relations in the United States, and the socio-cultural silver lining that the election of Donald Trump yielded in this context. The session was moderated by Humanity in Action Senior Fellow Lorenz Narku Laing. It was followed by a networking event that was co-sponsored by NYU Berlin.
