Article

In mid-December 2020, Landecker Senior Fellow Nikolaos Vrantsis delivered a presentation on housing deprivation in the municipality of Naousa. The presentation was part of an online event organized by the Central Union of Municipalities in Greece.

Watch his presentation (in Greek) starting at 1:24 below:

A version of his presentation focusing on the (in) visibility of housing deprivation was also published here on The Press Project, a major Greek news outlet. In this essay, Nikolaos touches upon multiple issues connected to housing such as an inadequacy of municipal services, incomplete information, and the “low priority given to the issue of housing as a social issue” especially in small municipalities.

Nikos is one of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
