The next step for H.A.R.T.A

Details

Article

For the second step of his action project, Nikolaos Vrantsis has created a detailed map of the inactive housing and abandoned resources in Naoussa. His project called H.A.R.T.A (Housing Affordability In Real Terms) is a research and intervention group that focuses on the emergence of housing challenges within small towns and peripheral municipalities in Greece.

The cartography groups the private vacant properties found in the municipality of Naoussa and is classified by type (houses, apartment) and by condition (good, moderate, bad). It is constantly updated with the contribution of volunteers and additional data recorded over time.

You can find the cartography on H.A.R.T.A’s official page (in Greek). To learn more about the Action Project, click here.

Nikolaos is one of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
