Asha Shajahan receives the Champion of Humanistic Care Award

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation announced the 2021 Champions of Humanistic Care, celebrating healthcare professionals with a strong dedication to humanism in action in their patient care.

Asha Shajahan is one of the around 200 healthcare team members who have been selected for the award. She is being recognized alongside three esteemed National Humanism in Medicine Medal recipients: Anthony Fauci, Wayne Riley and Eric Topol.

“Humanism is the bread and butter of healthcare,” says Asha in her video statement accepting the award, which you can watch in full here:

Asha is one of thirty Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
