Since 1997, Humanity in Action has been committed to building equity, justice and democratic responsibility at home and abroad. This year marks 25 years of educating, connecting and inspiring leaders. As the organization looks further to build community and constructive dialogue – particularly at a time of polarization and division – we ask you to consider supporting our efforts with a gift to Humanity in Action during the upcoming Senior Fellow Giving Campaign.
Today we are pleased to announce our goal for the 2022 Senior Fellow Giving Campaign is $40,000.
This annual giving campaign supports Senior Fellow programming and allows Humanity in Action to continue to fund leadership opportunities for college and university students. Senior Fellows are the educational base of our mission and now, more than ever, your support helps ensure that this important work continues well into the future. We hope you will participate to the extent you can, and help support our Fellows and the opportunities offered by Humanity in Action.
This upcoming year will include new events, programs, grants, films and, international opportunities for our Fellows and Senior Fellows.
As we look to the future, we also want to share highlights from this year:
2022 Annual Fellowship Program
This past summer, our annual fellowship program continued both in-person and virtually with great success. We engaged 90 new Fellows for three weeks of inspiring guest speakers, site visits, and rich conversations about democracy and human rights issues.
2022-2023 Grant and Fellowship Opportunities
Humanity in Action continued the Racial Equity Grant for a third year, which supports 5 Fellows in their projects on racial equity and critical social change.
Humanity in Action also partnered with the ACLU in Georgia and created a fellowship opportunity for Fellows to work on policy research and contribute to advocacy on the ground.
Film Projects
A library of documentary films, exhibitions, and publications including animated and documentary films which allows us to reach broad audiences – films such as the Traces Trilogy of Holocaust narratives and, in collaboration with the Bertelsmann Foundation, “I,Too” featuring Dr. Carol Anderson, as well as the video and podcast series How to Fix Democracy.
With your support, Humanity in Action can continue these projects and provide new programs, events, and opportunities for our Fellows and Senior Fellows in the coming year.
