Detroit Community Development Fellowship

Centering the equitable revitalization of Detroit’s neighborhoods

The Detroit Community Development Fellowship gave Fellows and Senior Fellows the opportunity to work closely with organizations that are spearheading revitalization projects in Detroit’s neighborhoods. This program allowed participants to gain exposure and on the ground experience contributing to project development, community outreach and advocacy. The projects focused on equitable redevelopment through deep community engagement and needs assessment practices.

FELLOWSHIP DETAILS:

  • The Fellowship application was open to all Humanity in Action Fellows and Senior Fellows.
  • The two offered professional programs, the Tuxedo and Zachary and Associates were part-time projects, which lasted between three to six-months at the start of summer 2020.
  • For the purpose of the Fellowship, both projects were located in Detroit, Michigan.
