Anne Katrine Ebbesen is Senior Communications Advisor at Nordregio, a regional development research institute under the Nordic Council of Ministers. On a daily basis she manages the policy and strategy side of things, particularly within migration, sustainable innovation, regional preparedness and rural development. Previously, Anne has worked at the Danish Insititue of Human Rights, the Greater Copenhagen Fire Department, the Interchurch Council of Denmark, Railnet Denmark and Danmission. She has also been hired on several freelance contracts for her specialised communications skills in strategic and digital formats.
At Humanity in Action, Anne has been active since 2012 when she was hired as an intern at the Copenhagen office. Senior Fellow (2013), Lantos Congressional Fellow (2014), Chairperson of the Senior Fellow Association (2015-16), member of the Board of Humanity In Action Denmark (2022-2023), and now as ombudsperson for Humanity in Action Denmark. With a BA and MA in Rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen, specializing in nationalism, conflict theory and campaign strategies, Anne is also trained in conflict resolution and inter-religious dialogue from programs in Lebanon, Armenia and Denmark.

Humanity in Action is committed to providing an open, respectful, and safe environment for its Fellows, Senior Fellows, Program Interns, Staff, Board Members, speakers, partners, and others involved in its programs. Anne Katrine Ebbesen is our Ombudsperson, our designated point of contact to serve members of the Humanity in Action network, including the Fellows of this program, who experience abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic, or other forms of discriminatory behavior that emanate from other members of the network.
