Joanna Pottle is an American visual artist, researcher, educator, and curator based in Kraków, Poland. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, she is a recent US Fulbright Program alumnae to Poland (2019-2020/21). For her Fulbright, she executed a combination of art projects, curatorial work, and educational programming with the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow (MOCAK). With a BFA in Studio Art, BA in Art History and Art Education Track, her professional work spans abstract mixed media techniques of painting, printmaking, drawing, and installations and research on the intersection of cultural heritage, democracy, collective memory, and public space and art. Joanna has participated in numerous exhibitions, residencies and grants including a US Embassy in Poland grant in 2020-2021 and is currently completing a MA in European Studies Programme, Central and Eastern European Studies: Research Track at the Jagiellonian University.
