Sofian Meziani is a German-Moroccan student. He is working on raising awareness of how (post-)coloniality structures our societies today and how it continuously plays an important role in distributing life chances. He is interested in the reproduction of cultural memory in western societies and how the experiences of divers positions can be integrated.
Sofian is currently working on his bachelor’s thesis about the experiences of BIPOC-Queers in western societies and what it means to grow up and occupy a space in between dichotomies like orient/okzident, black/white, former-colonizer/post-colonized, intelligible/non-intelligible and German/Non-German. Sofian has worked for multiple organizations including AB-Queer e.V., Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, Evangelische Studierendengemeinde and Goethe Law Clinic.
