Varisa Tanti (she/they) is an urbanist working at the intersection of public demography, cartography, and spatial research to advocate for a more inclusive world. She is fascinated by the orchestration of cities and believes that all inhabitants of the urban ecosystem deserve the tools necessary to thrive on their own terms as well as feel belonging and empowerment in their environments. Her research projects have been featured at ESRI’s Federal GIS Conference, International Statistical Institute and ESRI’s Spatial Thinking Competition, and NYC Open Data Week’s School of Data Conference. She is a proud child of kind and loving immigrant parents. Varisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
