Virginia Sun is an international development policymaker and aspiring urbanist. She most recently worked as an economic analyst on Caribbean policy at the U.S. Treasury Department. Virginia hopes to design inclusive, democratic urban planning in emerging markets. She graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a minor in Luso-Brazilian studies. Her research, conducted with University of Richmond funding and as part of a NASA/USAID grant, focused on Latin America, post-colonialism, and urban design. Virginia has also previously served as a Bundestag/U.S. State Department Youth Ambassador in Berlin, a Boren Scholar for the study of advanced Kiswahili, and an interfaith pilgrimage scholar to Spain and Israel/Palestine.
