Myrthe Raven

Article

Myrthe Raven is a Dutch graduate student in European Governance, with a background in political science and a growing fascination for the human stories behind politics. Through her studies in Brno (Czech Republic) and her internship at the Dutch Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels, she developed a strong interest in the EU’s role in its neighbourhood and democratic transitions, particularly in the Western Balkans. Myrthe is curious and driven by a desire to understand how big political processes affect everyday lives. This interest also extends to how societies deal with war and its aftermath, something she has come to understand more personally through her own family’s history of displacement and trauma. As a Humanity in Action Fellow, she hopes to connect with others who care about social justice and to learn from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s complex and resilient society.
