Action Projects
Action Projects are civic ventures led by Humanity in Action Fellows designed to drive change in their communities.
Action Projects are a core and required component of a Humanity in Action Fellowship. Each Action Project transforms Fellowship insights into tangible community impact and embodies three core tenets—facilitating dialogue, cultivating understanding, and inspiring action. They are implemented in communities across Europe, the United States, and beyond, addressing local challenges with global perspectives. The projects span diverse focus areas—from educational initiatives and artistic interventions to policy advocacy and community organizing—reflecting Fellows’ unique expertise and local needs. Humanity in Action equips Fellows with project development mentorship and networking opportunities through a dedicated support program. A completed Action Project is the entry point to the Humanity in Action Senior Fellows network.

Framing
Als Actie Project heeft Zeyneb de podcast ‘Framing’ ontwikkeld. In eerdere afleveringen sprak Zeyneb met Alison Fischer over de impact van ons koloniale verleden en met Merel Hendrickx over etnisch profileren. In de derde aflevering spreekt Zeyneb over het eerste Nederlandse coalitieakkoord dat het bestaan van ingebakken vormen van racisme en discriminatie erkent. Deze audiodocumentaire is een initiatief om institutioneel racisme beter te begrijpen.

drINK Café: Creating Brave Spaces Through Shared Spaces
From her own experience as a Black womxn navigating predominant spaces, Valerie sought to create a virtual event addressing the burden placed on Black womxn. The goal of her Action Project was to experience the double burden of racism and misogyny confronting Black womxn and non-binary individuals.

Through a strong media campaign and partnership with local organizations, #demandculture aims to begin a movement showing the power of culture and small-town charms.

OVERCOMING PHARAOHS - international summer seminar for educators and youth workers!
Nitzan Menagem - chair of the German branch of the Jewish left-wing youth movement Hashomer Hatzair and founder of the educational initiative ROSBOT and Joanna Matera - psychologist focused on social cognition and intergroup relations - met online during the 2020 Humanity in Action Poland Fellowship/Academy of Human Rights. This inspired their friendship and project-collaboration!

Countering Disinformation Through Education
As warned by the World Health Organization, the COVID-19 pandemic is being used to spread false and misleading narratives aiming to discredit official measures taken by governments, change the public perception about the coronavirus and in turn discourage people from following precautions and getting vaccinated.

Urban Justice
Initially, Karolina's Action Project was supposed to focus on one aspect only - the urban chaos. As it turned out, it would also serve as a study of the ever-regressing public municipal sphere, lacking legal basis, and general helplessness regarding the relation of commoner-authority.
