Room for action - girls' activist workshops

Article

In September and October this year, Dagmara Magryta and Beata Janus, two HIA Poland Senior Fellows, will be implementing their action project within the framework of the Wrocław-based Microgrants. This initiative was inspired by their time in the fellowship and the Academy of Human Rights.

Their project “Room for action- girls’ activist workshops” is a series of events that will take place across eight consecutive weeks. In addition to meetings with female representatives from local social organisations, there are workshops included in the program. These workshops will help prepare future leaders by helping them to develop project management, event organization, and social media skills.

In this three part series, participants of the initiative will learn about the widely forgotten history of women. In an effort to synthesize and increase awareness of this information, participants will be able to write articles on Wikipedia about famous women from Wrocław. At the end, there will also be an opportunity to create a board game that will be tested at the end of the project.
