During the 2022 Copenhagen Fellowship, our Fellows created a series of mini-podcasts. The Fellows where free to choose a topic, but all episodes touch upon issues related to Human Rights.

The Arctic Winter Games

How are indigenous cultures preserved through games? And more specifically what characterises Arctic games? The Arctic Winter Games is a biennial sports- and indigenous cultural event involving circumpolar peoples residing in communities or countries bordering the Arctic Ocean. Our 2022 Copenhagen Fellows Dagmar Büchert, Pamela Alina Conde Morales, and Mahima Arya’s own interest for sports made them curious to explore more about this event, and dive deaper into – what outsiders may deem – peculiar disciplines such as the game of Finger Pulling.

We are grateful to Lars Lerche (Curator at The Greenlandic House) and Jens Heinrich (Head of the Greenlandic Representation in Copenhagen) for participating in the podcast.
