On October 3, 2021, Landecker Fellow Christiana Bukalo will speak at TEDxTUM 2021 event entitled “Pulse.”

According to the organizers, the “pulse of a place in the world is created by its people.” The theme of the event thus encourages participants to “think in a new way about the tempo of our time,” to reflect on what pieces of our history we can revitalize in a new era.

Christiana’s work brings light towards an issue that affects around 12 million people in the world—statelessness. Christiana further addresses the changes that need to be made to “change millions of people’s lives for the better.” Her work thus fits perfectly with the overall “Pulse” theme of the event. She will discuss this topic as the first speaker of the Munich in-person event.

More information as well as ticket reservation are available here. All attendees will have to provide a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19, proof of recovery, or a negative test. The event will be held in the English language.

Christiana is one of thirty Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
