Housing Action Day 2021

Article

Landecker Democracy Fellow Nikolaos Vrantsis shared a powerful message on Housing Action Day 2021. He reflected, “On the occasion of the Housing Action Day, we should be reminded that a House is not merely a place to dwell but the foundation for a dignified life. Housing is a human right. But not all people have equal access to it.”

Nikolaos continued, “We should also be reminded that the housing question affects not only populations in big cities but people living in rural areas under precarious housing conditions and minimal administrative assistance. Housing is a right and in order to exist it has to be imaginable, breaking with the conceptual and institutional inertia reproducing an individualistic housing ethos.”

A House is not merely a place to dwell but the foundation for a dignified life.
