US Vice President Kamala Harris recently named the #ThisIsOurShot Campaign as a founding member of Covid-19 Community Corps, a network of organizations across the US that fight misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. She welcomed the campaign’s executive team on a recent call.

Alfred Landecker Democracy Fellow Asha Shajahan is on the national executive board of the #ThisIsOurShot campaign.

In Vice President Harris’ words, “You are the people that folks on the ground know and rely on and have a history with, and when people are then making the decision to get vaccinated, they’re going to look to you.”

As COVID-19 vaccines are becoming available in the United States, the #ThisIsOurShot Campaign aims to spread awareness about the vaccines and fight misinformation about them. It unites more than 25,000 healthcare workers and connects them with people who have questions about COVID-19 vaccines. Beyond building trust in vaccines, the #ThisIsOurShot Campaign also advocates for their equitable distribution and administration.
