Bera Elyesa Topkara is a Turkish-German scholar based in Berlin, whose work focuses on migration, interreligious dialogue, cultural exchange, and racial segregation. He studied Middle Eastern Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Islamic Theology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His passion for languages and cross-cultural understanding has led him abroad on multiple occasions: first as an exchange student at the University Center for the Study of Islam and Society at Leiden University, and later as a Fulbright Fellow at Emory University, where he studied at the Candler School of Theology and the Center for Islamic Civilization Studies (ICIVS). He has participated in several academic and interfaith initiatives, including the Cambridge Interfaith Summer School, the Fulbright Diversity Initiative, and the Christian-Muslim Theology School in Jerusalem.
