Bogdana Buzarnescu Charpentier (she/her/hers) is a world traveler and professional nomad, having had the opportunity to work in multiple environments in her constant search for professional meaning. She was a teacher working with children in Romania, translator and interpreter for the US Holocaust Museum, event organizer, and a PR and communications associate for an European project in Hungary, as well as research fellow and Program Coordinator at the Central European University where, among other things, she mentored MA students in their own search for academic meaning.
She is passionate about political change, focusing on European multiculturalism and globalisation (this was actually her BA thesis topic!). Since 2015, Bogdana has worked at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, focusing on environmental, societal and health related topics, contributing to reports that propose important changes to legislation in member states. In parallel to her work at the Council she was involved in the work of the International Forum for the Future of Education (IFFE) which focuses on promoting responsible education and culture through the transmission of cultural and education knowledge and competences. She was also involved in the early stages of development of the Digital Society Podcast currently a knowledge and information platform that focuses on the impact, problems and opportunities inherent in digital media but that started as a bilingual podcast (English/Romanian).
Bogdana has been on sabbatical leave for a couple of years now, embarking on yet another life adventure in Boston, Massachusetts where she was involved in community work with a resident leadership group on climate safe alternatives, while also working on a personal project that she wanted to finalise since her early days of international travel – a travel blog!
She will soon be relocating to Frankfurt, Germany where she hopes to start new, exciting projects both professionally and personally.
