Julia Konarska was born in Cracow. After graduating from high school, she moved around Europe and eventually did a BA in Politics at Coventry University in England. Her dissertation revolved around the constant attacks on women’s reproductive rights in Poland. She is currently studying to obtain a Masters degree in Documentary Practice at Queen Mary University of London. She is passionate about grassroots organizing aiming at dismantling all systems of oppression rooted in capitalism. Julia has been active in the Polish queer community in London with Polish Rainbow in UK which organized a series of protests at the Polish Embassy in London and has multiple other projects planned for the coming year. She wants to continue using film as a tool for activism and create platforms for those usually neglected by the mainstream media.
