Nadja Groot is an independent strategy and organisation consultant with over 10 years of experience in the fields of human rights and social change. Previously, she worked with various foundations with outspoken human rights agenda’s, including the Democracy and Media Foundation in the Netherlands and the EU advocacy office of the Open Society Foundations in Brussels. Prior to her engagement with philanthropy, Nadja participated in Humanity in Action’s Pat Cox Fellowship Programme at the European Parliament and worked with a Dutch NGO on education and entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans. Collaborating with grassroots initiatives as well as policy advocates at the crossroads of philanthropy and advocacy in Europe, she combines a thorough understanding of strategic grantmaking and organizational development, with expert-level analytical, strategy and communication skills. Nadja holds an MA in international relations and a BA in educational science and development studies from the University of Amsterdam.
