Pooja Lama

Pooja Lama is a graduate of Psychology and International Relations with a decade-long experience in development, diplomatic, and volunteering sectors of Nepal. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology at Humboldt University in Berlin. She has worked with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and the U.S. Embassy in Nepal in strategic planning, public relations, and project management of art, culture, and exchanges programs. Additionally, Pooja is a theatre actor and has performed in highly acclaimed plays such as The Vagina Monologues, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Three Sisters in Nepal and India. She is trained in community forms of theatre such as Theatre of the Oppressed and Forum theatre. Her fields of interest include art as a tool of social transformation, intersectional feminism, and linkages between science, policy, and society in forging a sustainable future. Pooja joined Humanity in Action’s team in October 2021 as Program Coordinator for the Landecker Democracy Fellowship.
