Article

Working at the intersections of participatory policy development, advocacy, and academia, Vinya is focused on amplifying insights from marginalised communities. Her professional experience includes working with the Poverty Truth Network, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Migration, King’s College London, and the UK’s Migration Museum. She recently completed an MA in Gender Studies and Law at SOAS, University of London, with a thesis that critiques the asylum process for LGBT+ refugees from a queer postcolonial perspective. Having lived substantial blocks of her life in Germany, India, Singapore, and the UK, she values getting to know places deeply, including learning about suppressed histories and communities of resistance. Colourful sewing projects, creative people, home food, and hiking adventures keep her inspired.
