BH Youth Capital Competition Initiative

Article

Humanity in Action’s EDVACAY Participants Ajna Mešić, Alma Ramić, Dženan Sejdinović, and Haris Sadžak developed the BH Youth Capital Competition Initiative that seeks to promote European values in the cities of BiH, inspired by the European Youth Capital Competition. The EYCC gives an opportunity to a new European city to showcase its innovative ideas, projects, and activities that aim to raise young voices and bring a new youth perspective to all aspects of city life. Many more cities, by simply applying to win the title, experience innovative youth-focus initiatives taking place. From public transport and infrastructure to cultural and educational programs and democratic policy-making, the European Youth Capital title invites cities across the continent to rethink how they engage with and include young people.

The BHYC Initiative has the goal of establishing cooperation with relevant local and international stakeholders, presenting them with the BHYC brand identity and competition concept, and inviting different cities in BiH to compete for the local BH Youth Capital each year. With Sarajevo being one of the five finalists in the European Capital of Youth for 2026 what better way to show dedication towards youth in BiH than its youth creating a local brand and bringing and fostering these values in the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina? The team will create the logo and the brand, for each category of the competition which aims to be the stepping stone of the BHYC becoming a reality in BiH.
