Currently, she is also pursuing a Master\u2019s degree in Neuropsychology at Humboldt University, Berlin.\r\n\r\nPooja has 12 years of experience in the development and diplomatic sectors across Asia and Europe. Katie previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Her award-winning undergraduate thesis analyzes instances of police brutality as a global phenomenon. Prior to joining Humanity in Action, Katie worked at the Minnesota State Senate, where she focused on tax policy, public finance, and economic development.\r\n\r\nKatie initially moved to Berlin in 2017 through the Congress Bundestag Vocational Youth Exchange, during which she noticed growing divisiveness through the rise of right-wing extremism. In 2022 she returned to Germany through a Fulbright Research Grant to explore demographic patterns among AfD supporters in the New Federal States of Germany and Donald Trump supporters in the Rust Belt. As of March 2024 Kasia Siemasz serves as the National Director of Humanity in Action Germany. Her academic journey includes pursuing a Master's degree in European Studies through a Double Degree Program offered jointly by the University of Vienna and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Driven by an interest in gender equality in the Nordic region and a fascination with Swedish cinema, she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Swedish language and literature.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nIn addition to her academic pursuits, Kasia has exhibited a dedication to social advocacy and community engagement for over 10 years. Initially volunteering with youth organizations, she transitioned seamlessly into professional leadership roles within NGOs, both in the German and international context. Her responsibilities have encompassed managing organizational structures, finances, and coordinating large-scale events and projects. She has worked in the field of historical education, with a notable focus on the intricate dynamics within the German-Polish-Israeli context.
