In our Humanity in Action’s Fellowship programs, we share our expertise with selected participants. But we don’t want to keep this knowledge exclusive to our Fellows. That’s why we also offer trainings outside our programs, so that any organization or individual can have access to knowledge about human rights and inclusivity.

Humanity in Action the Netherlands trainings will uplift the working methods and culture of your organization, may it be a non-profit,  corporate, or governmental body.

We offer the following trainings:

  • Bias to Balance: Building Awareness and Inclusion
  • Social Youth Leadership: from Ideas to Impact
  • Brave spaces: Engaging in Difficult Dialogues
  • Social Media and Visibility for NGOs and Activists

We bring 25 years of hands-on experience in creating educational programs on social justice and  inclusivity. By booking a Humanity in Action training, you support our mission of connecting and inspiring young people to champion human rights, democracy, and inclusivity in society. A training for your organization is indirectly a donation to our Fellowship programs.

These sessions help improve productivity, safety, and social action and offer key learning opportunities. They are personalized to your organization’s needs, so that we can effectively answer your most pressing questions. We offer them in English and Dutch, both on- and offline. About our trainings

  • Bias to Balance: Building Awareness and Inclusion

Shouldn’t a work environment free from racism and discrimination be the norm everywhere? The reality is that 1 in 5 employees experience social insecurity in the workplace.

Employees who feel discriminated against perform 40 percent less effectively. They are also 2.5 times more likely to be sick than others. Organizations that foster diversity and inclusion demonstrate an improved overall performance.

‘Bias to Balance: Building Awareness and Inclusion’ equips participants with essential insights and skills to recognize and prevent discrimination and racism in the workplace. Through theory and case studies, the workshop fosters self-reflection and critical thinking about real-life instances of discrimination. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of racism, develop empathy, and learn to identify and address subtle microaggressions. This is an opportunity to expand your awareness and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable work environment!

  • Social Youth Leadership: from Ideas to Impact

In our rapidly changing world, young people increasingly feel powerless, which impacts their mental health. Anxiety is fueled by concerns about the state of the world and a lack of vision to turn their ideas into action. ‘Social Youth Leadership: from Ideas to Impact’ inspires and motivates young people to become socially active.

For 25 years, Humanity in Action worked on empowering youth to turn their visions into concrete steps.

In this workshop, participants reflect on the issues that matter to them and learn how to turn their concerns into actionable steps. The workshop provides tools and strategies to transform ideas into concrete projects with tangible results, empowering youth to make a meaningful impact in their communities with confidence.

“I learned to start doing. I can take up a lot of time intellectualizing the world’s problems, but here I needed to take action (Amsterdam Fellow 2024).”

  • Brave spaces: Engaging in Difficult Dialogues

Want to get better at navigating tough conversations?

Safe spaces are great, but to truly encourage learning, we need brave spaces where everyone can speak up and where debates are turned into constructive conversations.

‘Brave spaces: Engaging in Difficult Dialogues’ gives participants the opportunity to practice conversations about difficult and sensitive topics.

By using a dialogue model that accommodates diverse viewpoints and active listening, participants learn how to conduct respectful and constructive discussions. This is a place to develop the skills to approach challenging conversations with confidence and empathy and experience the value of an environment where openness and mutual understanding are at the core.

“It inspired me to find ways to connect with a group in a way that allows me to be vulnerable and express my thoughts with more confidence, to be critical, and to feel encouraged to engage in conversations (Amsterdam Fellow, 2024).”

  • Social Media and Visibility for NGOs and Activists

The digital landscape becomes increasingly crowded. Online visibility can make or break the impact of the message you want to spread.

‘Social Media and Visibility for NGOs and Activists’ offers practical learnings to enhance your online visibility. Participants will learn effective social media strategies to communicate their message powerfully and increase their impact.

Discover how to use social media to reach your audience, build engagement, and strengthen your organization or campaign.
