Rebuilding Joyful and Resilient Jewish Communities

This project involved an Oy Vey Pesach seider, which took place in an activist former squat with a communal kitchen in the East of Amsterdam. This former squat is close to the Muiderpoort station, from where many Jews were deported in WWII. The seider was split into two parts: a special workshop designing our own seider plates and the actual seider itself.

The thread running through the seider was the importance of  the seider itself being shaped by the community with the intention of empowering individuals. Over 60 people attended, children, parents – queer, straight, of different denominations, different affiliations, Jews and their (non)Jewish partners, friends and colleagues. All of this led to a great evening of community building.
