Aurora Cultural Celebration

On July 8, 2023, Senior Landecker Fellow Erica Dorn’s platform titled Suburb Futures is hosting a special celebration to culminate their ‘Civic Conversations Project.’ The event will take place in person at the Aurora Center for Active Adults in Aurora, CO.

The gathering will feature portraits of Aurora residents, kids’ activities, live music, henna art, local food, and facilitated conversations.

“We are excited to foster stronger intercultural and intergenerational community bonds in Aurora,” Erica explains, noting that everyone should feel free to invite their friends from the Denver/Aurora metro area.

Erica is one of thirty 2020-2021 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
