Girl power! Or herstory education

Details

Article

On 28.10.2022, in Kraków, the conference “Krakow women are the power of the city. On women’s history in education” („Krakowianki siłą miasta. O historii kobiet w edukacji”)took place. It was organised as part of the interdisciplinary project “Krakowianki” carried out at the Krakow City Hall. The initiator and driving force behind this project is Nina Gabryś, HIA Senior Fellow. History, herstory and education are topics close to HIA Poland, so we could not miss it. Larysa Michalska, the project coordinator at HIA Poland, represented our team.

One of the conference’s main objectives was to draw attention to women’s extraordinary role in urban development and to inspire those working with children and young people to set out on the trail of women and learn about herstory together.

Among the speakers was Agnieszka Jankowiak-Maik (history teacher, educational influencer, in social media known as Babka od histy), who mentioned our educational mobile app 10 STAGES and its use in education (including herstory education). To hear so many kind words about our app while sitting among dozens of teachers in the beautiful interiors of the Krzysztofory Palace was truly a great pleasure!

We keep our fingers crossed for the “Krakowianki” project and all other women and girls who take action to discover the “missing half of history”!
