With great pleasure and pride we announce that the board of Humanity in Action Netherlands has been expanded with three new general board members, Sümeyye Ekmekci, Joan Nunnely and Brigitte Boswinkel.

Sümeyye Ekmekci participated in the 2015 Amsterdam Fellowship of Humanity in Action. Co-inspired by the Fellowship and other Fellows, she is committed to human rights and justice. She currently serves as Program Officer at the Democracy and Media Foundation, an independent foundation that invests in critical, independent media and a strong, democratic rule of law.

Joan Nunnely is a Rotterdam entrepreneur with a heart for strategic management, dynamic leadership and talent development. “As an entrepreneur I always think ahead and I am driven and goal-oriented. I am involved and seek the space to hear the voice of the other. In addition, I dare to set boundaries that are important in inclusion issues. As a board member I want to contribute to the social projects of Humanity in Action to work together towards an inclusive society where everyone can be themselves”.

Brigitte Boswinkel is a Senior Fellow from the very beginning (Humanity in Action Amsterdam 1999). She has more than twenty years of experience as a communication professional and campaigner for (international) NGOs, such as Wemos, Human Rights Watch and War Child. Human rights, democracy and an inclusive society are a common thread through her career.
