The Fellowship takes place for four weeks every summer in Atlanta and allows young activists from around the world to learn more about the Civil Rights Movements, from activists who played a role in it, as well as learning from active organizations today in the fields of civil and human rights.
Program Director Tanya Washington notes: “The John Lewis Fellows, in the spirit of the icon after whom the program is named, will not just study the work of civil and human rights they will engage in some of that work,”
