Lack of representation and integration policies that weighs assimilation over diversity make it difficult for young people from minority backgrounds to share their stories. In the 'Animate Youth Stories' project, children take the lead in telling their own stories and celebrating their cultural backgrounds through stop motion films. Maiken and Kaila, together with ANIMOK, have developed a 2-day workshop for children. A number of films have come out of it, which you can find on the Instagram account: animate.youth.stories. Based on the project, Maiken and Kaila held a film screening and debate on how to animate change at the 'Viborg International Animation Festival 2022'.
