Ana Paula Munguia is a Mexican immigrant, advocate, and community-rooted researcher who uses policy, mentorship, and community-based work to uplift underrepresented communities. She has explored the intersections of gender, culture, and power through campus presentations on sexual violence policy, civic engagement among Latine communities, and the overlooked roles of women in revolutionary movements.
Currently based in Houston, Ana works as a Bilingual Legal Advocate at the Houston Area Women’s Center, supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Communication from the University of Texas at Austin and an Honors Associate Degree from Lone Star College. Ana has served as a peer mentor, student leader, and delegate at Model United Nations—where she earned national recognition—as well as in leadership roles with PLEN, student government, and the Honors College. She envisions a future where justice is multilingual, culturally grounded, and shaped by those most impacted.
