Hailing from Los Angeles, James Crisafulli finished his BA in political science at Northwestern University this June. James has been committed to advocating for the most vulnerable through his interest in public policy. He worked with a lawyer in Chicago fighting for parole for unjustly sentenced inmates and he continued doing legal work back in Los Angeles fighting for asylum-seekers. For the past year, James has been engaged in a research project with a Northwestern professor on multilateral military interventions and how China’s growing power will change the global political future. He also has a passion for community organizing, as he led a campaign for public financing in his college town and organized in Iowa during the Democratic primary. In the future, James hopes to get a law degree and work in international law at the intersection of climate change and human rights.
