Joakim Nørkjær Holmgaard is a student of International Relations and Development Studies with a great interest in Arctic affairs. During his academic career, he has written projects dealing with issues concerning systemic inequality, often related to post-colonial ties, and the mechanisms that keep these inequalities in place. As an activist advocating for humanitarian values, Joakim is currently a board member of the organisation DFUNK (Danish Refugee Council Youth) and has been engaged in the organisation for many years. He has shared the stories and experiences of young refugees in Denmark and has raised public awareness by facilitating debates and lectures.
