Jorien is characterized by her critical eye and innovative ideas. She is a natural networker, and with her enthusiasm and result-oriented attitude she knows how to move people into action.
Human Rights, inclusivity and social change have been common themes during her career. For the last 7,5 years, Jorien worked as a diplomat at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both in the Netherlands as a policy officer and strategic communications advisor, as well as on the Dutch embassy in Rabat, Morocco. Next to that she has been active as a coach and trainer to support teams in their collaboration and strategic focus.
Jorien served as the president of the National Dutch Student Union, where she strived for more inclusive and accessible education. She was also active as a board member of the Erasmus Student Network, an organization promoting intercultural exchange amongst students. She holds a Masters degree in Anthropology, for which she did research on the causes of xenophobia in South Africa.
