Melissa is a contracts analyst at Coinbase and a U.S. Citizenship Interview Coach at Make The Road New York. In her role at Coinbase, she negotiates commercial contracts with suppliers and is launching a supplier diversity program to create more business opportunities for companies owned by ethnic minorities, women, and the LGBTQI community. At Make the Road New York, she conducts mock interviews with U.S. citizenship applicants to simulate the naturalization exam conducted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Melissa is the daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants and her family’s experience with the U.S. immigration system inspired her to take action to improve transparency and accessibility to immigration applications. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where she majored in Public Policy and focused on understanding the impact of parental deportation on the academic achievement of children. Melissa loves the outdoors and jamming out to Kaytranada.
