This is Mikki Bloem. She is a culturally interested individual with a curious and creative mind. She has obtained a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges during which she discovered her interest in decolonizing history as well as her passion to enhance diversity and inclusion in her hometown Amsterdam. She wrote her Bachelor thesis on a Dutch museum, the Mauritshuis, where she investigated the meaning-making of the concept ‘Blackness’ through an exhibition about the Dutch slavery past. She is currently working as a Peer Educator at Diversion, where she aims to enhance inclusion in the Netherlands by stimulating awareness of – and conversations amongst younger generations about discrimination. With her participation in the 2025 Amsterdam fellowship she ultimately hopes to give back to the community in which she grew up, and beyond, by improving liveability for all.
